The Restaurant:

Inspired by the open architecture of St. Barth’s and named for the birds who visited the site while it was built, The Aviary provides a sense of escape minutes from Providence. Dine seated on the lush patio, inside by the fire, or underneath the sculptural birdcages suspended above the bar. Whatever your vantage point, your meal will be remarkable.

Muddled and mixed to order, always from scratch, The Aviary’s unique cocktails complement the cuisine and punctuate any occasion. With a rotating menu of local, seasonal craft beers, a wine list with dozens of wines by the glass and knowledgeable service to help you select the perfect beverage, The Aviary offers more choice and more chances to find your new favorite.

Our Team:

Owners

Lynn and Jack Tickle opened The Aviary in December of 2014. After decades of owning the successful boutique Tickle’s, the couple took on this new adventure and have not looked back. After graduating from college, their daughter Hannah also joined the team. The Tickle family successfully created an atmosphere where every team member strives to deliver on their mission of an exceptional dining experience.

Chef

Originally from Wales, Chef James Weare calls upon years of experience and nurtured talent to lead The Aviary’s culinary team. Trained in France, Chef James brings classic French training and a playful approach to New England-inspired cuisine.  Influenced by local ingredients, a love of color and an eye for beauty, he skillfully showcases locally sourced ingredients and reinterprets traditional favorites to create dishes both comfortingly familiar and exhilaratingly new.

With an eye for detail, Jennifer Vieira enthusiastically leads her team to deliver an exceptional dining experience. A long-time member of the Tickle’s family, Jennifer derives her passion, evident in the perfectly executed service and genuine devotion of her team, from comprehensive industry experience.
